Pituitary Awareness Week: 20-27 July 2008

Pituitary Awareness Week (PAW) is staged each July and features a series of activities in each state, usually at major city hospitals.
 
The week aims to:
 
Raise awareness and understanding of pituitary disorders
Provide education and information about pituitary disease and encourage early medical 
consultations, diagnosis and treatment 
Encourage health professionals to recognise, accurately diagnose and appropriately refer 
patients for specialist treatment
Improve understanding of pituitary disorders among patients, their families and carers to 
boost long-term self-management and the quality of life
 
Activities include information seminars, displays and media publicity. Most events are free.
